The Crispin

Heard of a Bakewell Tart? This is probably the Peak District’s most famous export and is definitely what Bakewell is best known for - essentially a jam tart that went wrong! Confectionary aside, Bakewell is the only market town within the Peak District National Park and is also a spa town. The Crispin, in neighbouring Great Longstone, is situated between Bakewell and Chatsworth – making this a good option if you’re visiting Chatsworth House (home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire) too. The pub is a beautiful period building with an enticing beer garden and fine Robinsons’ ales. The usual pub grub is also served in case you need to fuel up for a stomp over the peaks.
